User Guide for manual machine

Here is a step by step guide of how to easily remove concrete, wooden or steel fence posts using the manual Postpuller.

Once you have removed any fence panels from your post wheel the Postpuller into a position central to the post with the machine’s ‘post guide’ sitting next the post. Ensure the Postpuller is both stable and in a level and upright position.

Wrap the Postpuller’s chain twice around the post, then slip a chain link sideways into the adjacent ‘catch hook’ making sure the chain is as tight as possible.

Before operating the machine make sure the pressure release screw on the pump is closed by turning fully clockwise until tight (the machine will not raise otherwise). Your Postpuller is now ready for use.

Begin to operate the pump handle, the chain will become tight around the post and begin to pull the post from the ground. It is not necessary to pump the post completely out of the ground, around 200mm will usually be sufficient to release the post and any concrete footing from it’s ‘ground seal‘. You can now tip the Postpuller back and wheel away for disposal. When in a suitable position turn the pressure release screw slowly anti clockwise to lower post.

Move onto the next post until all your work is completed not forgetting to turn the pressure release screw fully clockwise before starting each post.

You have just saved yourself hours of back breaking work.

Always wear appropriate PPE including protective footwear and eye safety glasses. Stand clear above the working area whilst operating.
